Pollution of water bodies (rivers, lakes, wetlands) has been identified as a big problem which has adverse impacts on fisheries and other types of aquatic biodiversity. In addition, pollution compromises the goal of providing clean and safe water to the country’s growing population (NBSAP, 2016).
