Section I. Information on the targets being pursued at the national level

Latvia

C1.1. To ensure development and implementation of the nature management plans of protected territories.

The Target C1.1. is one of four targets under the policy result: C1. Ecosystems, their structures as well as diversity of wild native species are maintained and restored.

Target C1.1. aims that 55 % of specially protected nature territories have nature management plan and it`s implementation has started (in 2020).

The Target C1.2. is one of four targets under the policy result: C1. Ecosystems, their structures as well as diversity of wild native species are maintained and restored.

Target C1.2. aims that all types of habitats have management guidelines and that seven endangered species have species management plan (in 2020).

Target C1.3. aims that all species and habitats of the European Union`s importance have conservation objective (in 2020).

The Target C1.4. is one of four targets under the policy result: C1. Ecosystems, their structures as well as diversity of wild native species are maintained and restored.

Target C1.4. aims that 7 000 ha of protected habitats are restored (in 2020).

C2.1. To conduct countrywide mapping of the protected species and habitats of the European Union`s importance.

Target C2.1. is one of two targets under policy result: C2. The network of Natura 2000 nature protected territories of the European Union`s importance is improved based on mapping of the species and habitats as well as taking into account data of newest scientific research and regular monitoring.

Target C2.1. aims that maps for all protected species and habitats of the European Union`s importance are available (in 2020).

C2.2. To amend the delineation of the borders of Natura 2000 territories taking into account the results of mapping, newest scientific information and results of monitoring.

Target C2.2. is one of two targets under policy result: C2. The network of Natura 2000 nature protected territories of the European Union`s importance is improved based on mapping of the species and habitats as well as taking into account data of newest scientific research and regular monitoring.

Target C2.2. aims that borders are specified for all Natura 2000 territories (in 2020).

Target C3.1. is one of two targets under policy result: C3. Harmonization of interests of socio-economy and nature conservation, trough planning and implementation of the management activities.

Target C3.1. aims that 15 spatial plans of the local governments have incorporated requirements of the nature management plans (in 2016).

Target C3.2. aims at development of the indicator to determine a harmonization of nature conservation and economic interests (in 2020).

C4.1. To activate fund raising for a management of the specially protected nature territories.

Target C4.1. is one of two targets under policy result: C4. The restoration and an appropriate management of protected species and habitats are ensured starting from a planning to a facilitation of necessary support measures.

Target C4.1. aims that one hectare receives annual support of 50 euros (in 2020).

Target C4.2. is one of two targets under policy result: C4. The restoration and an appropriate management of protected species and habitats are ensured starting from a planning to a facilitation of necessary support measures.

Target C4.2. aims that restrictions on economic activities into protected territories are fully compensated.
