National Target

  published: 13 Feb 2019

Aichi Target 11: By 2020, at least 17 per cent of terrestrial and inland water, and 10 per cent of coastal and marine areas, especially areas of particular importance for biodiversity and ecosystem services, are conserved through effectively and equitably managed, ecologically representative and well-connected systems of protected areas and other effective area-based conservation measures, and integrated into the wider landscapes and seascapes

Sudan

In Sudan, most protected areas, except for four protected areas of Dinder Biosphere Reserve, Jebel El Dair Nation Park and Marine National Parks, lack management plans. Therefore, the selection and adoption of this national target will provide comprehensive and effective management measures for the protected areas. The adoption of the target will support the introduction of such management plans into the other protected areas..
